Personally, I don’t believe the above statement – life is just chips and beer… but I seem to be getting proved wrong every time we get a new brief from a leftfield promoter!
When brands need to offer their customers something more, something that little bit extra, they commonly entice shoppers with a Consumer Promotion. Whether it’s a free gift, a chance to win something amazing or simply a cash back, historically the same industries are running them.
Both the Chips & Beer industries have used promotions to drive sales for decades as have the QSR, supermarkets, liquor and media industries. But recently, there’s a trend of new industries using promotional strategies to;
- Increase B2B sales of ‘lime salt’ (yes, we’re now educated in fertilizer)!
- Entice eyeballs to a brand’s website & socials
- Encourage visits to a stand at an expo
- Tempt people to open a crypto wallet
- Get bums on seats at the Footy or even…
- Persuade locals to pick up a rod and go fishing!
In summary, whatever you’re selling, there’s always someone buying. Whether it’s B2B or B2C, sweetening the deal with an incentive is more prominent today than ever before.
